Twas the day before Christmas, and although in good moods, the mummies were frantic, entertaining their broods.
The packages were hidden all through the houses, but no one could find them, not even the mouses.
And what do these mummies do in the run up to Christmas? Why, write a blog post of course, so no one would miss us!
Here's the Christmas edition of the Best of the British Parent Blogger Carnival (we have a dad this time!)
There are some real crackers -- so grab a mince pie, sit back and enjoy!
1. Potty Mummy hijacks a Christmas letter from her resident mouse in Dear Country Cousins.
2. Single Parent Dad worries about raising his son without a mother in Sensitive Son.
3. Reluctant Memsahib reflects on her life this Christmas, and decides she's very happy in Sated Need. There's also a great (and easy) chocolate truffle recipe.
4. Jo Beafoix sheds a tear reflecting on the Christmas Play in an Audience with Miss E and Miss M.
5. Bush Mummy has an Unsettling moment at the school gate.
6. Dulwich Divorcee gets an early Christmas present when her parking ticket is suspended in Glad Tidings.
7. Samantha Smythe (the alter ego of Lucy Cavendish) wonders where the bin men tip went in Happy Christmas -- and a nervous breakdown. BTW -- her new book, Lost and Found, is out in March.
8. Anna at Part Mummy Part Me contemplates the woes of being a shared care parent in Autumn Leaf.
9 Nappy Valley Girl shares her sometimes frustrating experience of the mail service in Tis the Season...to go to the DHL depot.
10. Almost American relates a search for the missing chocolate in Who ate the tree ornaments?
11. Expatmum reports a near miss airport experience in And so it begins.
12. Family Affairs reflects on the realities of a single parent holiday in Christmas Past.
13. Are we nearly there yet mummy? sets expectations for a fancy dress party in Yo ho ho & and bottle of rum...
14. Multitude, a contributor to London Mums Blog, makes some promises to Santa I hope she can keep in Dear Santer.
15. Violet Posy wonders what they are going to do in the four weeks of Christmas holidays and gives some very good practical (an economical) suggestions in Activities for children during the holidays.
16. Little Mummy wants you to bring in the New Year with hard cash, in her win 100 pounds in groceries contest.
17. Charlene from Thames Valley Mums Blog preps her daughter for late night shopping.
18. A Modern Mother (me!) reflects on the state of the British Mummy Blogging community in 2008.
19. Jennifer at Alpha Mummy shares her family's indulgence for holiday flicks in 10 films we're watching this Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all!
The next carnival is 6 January at Single Parent Dad.
Also, we're always looking for new hosts, check the schedule for more details.

There are some great ones, as usual. Don't miss Potty's Christmas letter to her country cousins -it's a must read.

A fantastic read. I particularly like Samantha Smythe's Christmas Burglars.

Fantastic posts all, but my vote has to go to Family Affairs because as I read it, I could feel her anxiety pouring from her words. She clearly just writes what she feels without much editing which is how and why I write my blog - as a release.
Just to be able to get all your thoughts, however random they may be, off your chest at that exact moment in time.
